Capt. Shayne Ellis has joined the Outkasts!! He is bringing the 33’ catamaran SpearCat with him! With twin 300’s she will get anywhere fast! “She has so much room for activities” would be the words from the Step Brothers. She has a huge beam and is just a gorgeous ride and gorgeous boat. Coupled with JoJo or Tiff on the deck, you will surely have a trip to remember.
Capt Shayne has introduced a Ladies Special here in this attachment. Be sure to take advantage of this new boat and fish with arguably one of the best captains in the business!!

Week of Oct. 9, 2017

Monday fact-the healthy human body has the same concentration of salt as does seawater.
We are one with the ocean and is probably an interesting study in itself to see if that has any effect on our draw to it. Come on down and go fishing with us and “SEA” for yourself.
Some pics from the past weekend.
Tight lines and God bless,

Week of Oct. 13, 2017

The next couple of weeks will be some of the fastest paced fishing you will ever see. The kingfish have returned and the spanish mackerel are with them as they make their fall run. Between those guys and the bull reds and sharks it will certainly light the reels up. This is my favorite time to fish. You guys don’t miss out on what can be a legendary trip.
We still have trips available Sat afternoon and all day Sunday. Next weekend is already filling so don’t wait.
Posting a few pics from last years run. Enjoy!!
Tight lines,
Capt. Rodney

Week of 8-29-17

Fishing is really heating up right now and will continue to do so until we get our first real fall cold front. State water Snapper are returning in good size (can only keep them on Weekends until Labor Day but after that it’s game on).
Kingfish are blasting everything you throw at ‘em. Limits of studs, on most days, within 20 mins.
We are seeing more and more Trophy Bull Reds within a couple miles of the beach.
Sharks are easy limits pretty much all over.
NOW IS THE TIME TO COME AND GET TIGHT!
Catch a trophy and we can now set you up with a replica to last a lifetime with Gray Taxidermy.

8-22-17

We had many trips in the last week and they were all very different. The kingfish were slow to start the week and are now smashing everything.
Red snapper are returning to the state waters in pretty good size.
Trophy bull redfish to 44’ are around and once we find em we can catch quite a few pretty quick.
Shark are easy limits within just a few minutes most days, most are blacktips, spinners, sand shark and bonnethead.
We also caught a few mahi-mahi and spanish Mackerel.
Fishing will continue to get better up until we get a REAL fall cold front. The time is now to come and get tight!!
We would like to welcome Capt Matt Monclova to the team. Matt has a 100 ton masters and is one of the best fishing Captains in the area. He will work VERY hard to make sure you catch your fish.
We would also like to welcome Captain Shayne Ellis to the team. A deep water fisherman and spear fisherman Capt Shayne know where the fish are and how to get em. Constantly plugged in to the underwater world, his knowledge is vast.

Week of 8-7-2017

We also have our new boat, the K-Lynn! She is a luxury state water boat with some cold a/c and a full head and kitchen. She is $1000 for a 5 hour trip for 4($100 extra for a 5th and 6th person) and $1500 for a full day for 4 people($150 each for the 5th and 6th person). She is a 33’ Wellcraft Coastal with twin 454 gasoline engines(no diesel fumes). I have some pics of here on this post.

7-30-17-Kings going crazy!!

The water is clear aqua green and about 86 degrees. Catching lots of red snapper(most too small), cobia, kingfish and trophy red drum. We have been out almost everyday that the weather has allowed and I have to say that it is some of the best fishing I have ever seen right now. Although it is hot outside the fishing is even more so. Come aboard for the trip of a lifetime!

Week of 5-12-17

THE FISHING IS GOOD ALL OVER!
Water temp is about 77 degrees offshore. The color of the water is clear green in state waters. The Bull Red action is still real hot once we get ‘em chummed in – all over 36” and 20-30 pounds.  Big sharks are definitely hot.  We caught several Black Tips to 70 lbs, a Tiger of 500+ pounds, and a BULL SHARK over 200 pounds!!  Red Snapper fishing is really good in state waters when we’re not overpopulated with large sharks on the state reefs. Most of our limits of Snapper have been in the 17” to 30” range. Kingfish are good to 48”.

Week of 4-17

The fishing has been excellent when we are able to get out. The front associated with spring has made the ability to get offshore a little tricky. We were blessed with some great days though and we really had some “meat hauls” this week. Both boats ran(Pesca Mas and Revelry) almost everyday this week. Some of our best catches were a 33” and a 32” red snapper(both over 17.5lbs,), a 44.7lb Cobia, lots of kingfish, and one morning we managed 18 bull reds in just a few hours.
Red snapper limits, shark limits and trophy bull redfish limits are coming pretty easily right now so all of our trips are catching a lot of fish.
Summer is booking quickly but we will soon have another catamaran that we will be booking for trips. She is very similar to Revelry and is a great looking machine. We also have a rental house for your convenience that we can schedule your stay in as well. It is right by the beach in San Luis Pass and rents for $300 a night. Keep in mind that we would like to be your one stop shopping charter so if there is anything special that we can help you with then we would like to try to help out. We love what we do and we hope it shows!!

3-22-Cobia Crazy

From the helm of Pesca Mas 3-24-17
Fishing just started off with a bang. Landed a few good size state snapper and the the line on the shotgun rod started peeling off. After 20 minutes or so we had a 17lb Jack Crevalle beside the boat. A few minutes after releasing the jackfish we had our first of three nice mangrove snapper that we would catch during the day. Then it all broke loose. We had two snapper on and then Bri’s(12 years old) rod doubled over, the fish came right up to the surface but didn’t give us long enough to determine whether it was a shark or a cobia. The fish made two runs and then was beside the boat for a quick gaff by the Outkasts and over came a 42.5lb. cobia(ling). What a beauty of a fish. The next couple hours we continued to peck away at the red snapper limit but we also took a few bull redfish aboard. About 1 o’clock we were done with the 6 person limit of state water snapper(24 total) and we headed toward the mouth of the river to finish our bull redfish limit. After chumming and fishing for an hour and a half it was not meant to be. I have to say that it was one of the most exciting days for the Outkasts on the water this year so far. The really good news is that when the cobia and spanish mackerel are around then the kingfish aren’t far away.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rodney

Weekend of 3-18

Wow!! The fishing is spectacular right now. Easy limits of red snapper, usually within 45 minutes, to 25”. Bull reds are hot in the shallow water to 44’ and 29lbs. we are picking up quite a few spanish mackerel and grouper too. All of our trips over the weekend we just on fire. Our other boat, Pesca Mas had a red snapper to 33” and 25lbs(see video on our Facebook page). We are waiting very impatiently for the kingfish and cobia to show. We are still booking quickly for the summer so please plan now. If Revelry is booked then look at the dates for Pesca Mas too. She is our little sportfisher and she is a dandy. Full restroom and bunks for little extra charge.

If you are lucky enough you will get to see Aaron playing at the dock when we return or leave. Maybe with a little inspiration you can get him to play on the boat.

We have t-shirts and high performance fishing shirts available for purchase at the boat if you would like one. They run $20 and $35.

We also will cater and make your PRIVATE trip all-inclusive at a vary fair price. It includes high performance shirts for your crew, breakfast or dinner and drinks(does not include alcohol but you may bring your own). Let us know when we touch base with you after your booking and we will cover all the details and pricing.

If we are booked solid we ask that you look to Olivia J Charters down here as well. Capt. Rodney Chapman is quite a fisherman and very professional!

Big redsx2

This has been the case all week. We limit out and nail the red snapper and trophy redfish all in the same spot. A short twelve mile run down the beach and we have both!
We are also catching some Dogfish(pics below) as well. We have put 5 of em on the deck but have released them all. Sea Center Texas is looking for one more so if we can boat one late in the day it will be donated ALIVE! We have let them all go so far due to the fact that they are loaded with pups! BAM!!
It truly is something to be fired up about!! Come join us now. Spring break and Summer are booking solid pretty quick.
Air temp was 75 and the water temp was 64.

AJ’s to Duskys

Fishing has been excellent for Amberjack, red snapper and trophy bull redfish. We had one AJ that was around 70lbs and fought for around an hour.  I am not sure what is the deal but we have had 3 dusky sharks take our bait and put up a real fight for some.
The seas were calm and the weather was perfect. Hoping to see many more days like this as it sure makes for a pleasant day on the water.
Looking to get out for some more AJ’s, swordfish, wahoo, vermillion snapper and grouper. Our spring break trips are booking very quickly so please don’t hesitate to jump aboard either Revelry or Pesca Mas.
Tight lines!!
Capt. Outkast

New Boat Record!!

We have a new boat record for red snapper. 33”!!! What a fish. We caught her on a sardine last Saturday and boy she put up a fight. The snapper fishing is superb right now. We are also catching 40”+ redfish as well when the current allows for us to fish that particular spot. Come on aboard and lets “get tight”!!

Top Fin Outfitters and Amberjack Season

We had a couple great trips during the Christmas holiday and the snapper were definitely hungry. We cashed in on 5 limits of state red snapper in very short order.

We then kicked off Amberjack season and the new year with a bang. We went out 45 miles on the 1st and jumped right on the AJ’s. Only taking live bait, they were quick to the draw. We ran out of live bait within an hour. Was a great trip.

On the 3rd we went out for wahoo and whatever else was lying in wait. I think the weather had the fish off as the bite was slow. We managed a few catch and release red snapper and hooked a few grouper that took us into the rig and also got a visit from the tax man.
