… MattRice was talking to some people at The Breeze, and the next thing we know, we’re taking them out for a quick Bull Red catch! Filled their tags and they were done for the day.

We have a few openings this weekend. The fishing has been pretty darn good, we have caught some large sharks and good redfish offshore. Should be a few statewater snapper around and the kingfish should be close. Water is a bit muddy nearshore from all the rain but hey, fish still have to eat!

At the last minute, these guys booked a 12 hour offshore trip through our website for the next day. Luckily, the weather was good enough to get it done! Some of them had never heard of Wahoo, so we changed it to a 10 hour and took ’em offshore where the water was cobalt blue and as smooth as glass. So smooth that we were able to walk around the boat easily with the throttles pinned.

Nothing like being 60 miles offshore in an hour, doubled up on Wahoo, reels screaming, and no time to drink a beer. One fish hit so hard and fast it broke the line at the rod tip as soon as it hit the bait.

If y’all are gonna let us take you fishing for Wahoo, we’re gonna add them back to the tournament board. The Holcombs are gonna start the category off with 20.4, 22.1, & 26.2 pounds.

They went home with 3 full ice chests of meat. Not sure, but the 2 guys who didn’t show up might be sorry they missed it.

It’s that time of year‼️ Fishing (and catching) is getting better and better! And that means our tournament board changes drastically.

We found some Jacks, which are always a fun fight, and used some to catch the shark that took the top of the tournament category. We kept this 69 pounder, but saw some BIG girls out there.

Bull Reds are getting bigger too!

Starting to see a lot of movement on the Tournament board. Came very close to posting a giant of a blacktip shark but it bit through the line right at the boat. I would guess it to push at to over 100#. Redfish are getting huge as they start their spring run.
We should start seeing Kingfish reel soon! We will be shooting for some state water snapper tomorrow so hopefully we will see a few show up.
Don’t forget that starting in mid July we will start running tuna trips! There isn’t much that isn’t more exciting. They fight hard, eat great and there is no limit(unlike the 2 fish limit on snapper, pfft). Also, and this is the biggie, when you are fighting them, you are in a race against the hungry sharks that will always claim a few.
